Mediation is a highly effective mechanism to resolve intellectual property disputes early on, before parties become bitter and before there has been a tremendous expenditure in attorney’s fees. Parties to contracts involving the exploitation of intellectual property often share the same goals when a dispute arises: expedient and cost-effective resolution; confidentiality; and a voluntarily-crafted resolution.
Common examples of issues we mediate include:
- Software & Technology Licenses
- Trade Secrets
- Trademark Rights and Infringement
- Distribution Contracts
- Research and Development Contracts
- Employment, Work for Hire, and Independent Contractor Agreements
- Mergers and Acquisitions with Valuable Intellectual Property Assets
- Any other Technology-Sensitive Contract

Artificial Intelligence & Software
Ellie Vilendrer has held pivotal roles such as outside general counsel, intellectual property counsel, and privacy counsel to AI, software and technology companies.
Between 2014 – 2018, Ellie Vilendrer co-founded an AI company which used machine learning to predict, in real-time, how using a certain marketing channel or deploying an A/B test variant would affect the ROI of an app. Her company’s Artificial Intelligence-powered prescriptive analytics platform was the first technology ever created for apps to replace a data science team and provide recommendations for features and marketing campaigns based on predicted outcomes. In 2016, her start-up earned a distinguished top-10 semi-finalist placement in the high-tech division of the MN Cup, from over 200 high-tech division applicants and over 1500 applicants overall.
